And all the times you’ve lied

They all seemed so far and few

But now I’m starting to remember the truth

Last night you told me we were over

This was the end of our forever

We’ve shared so many hopes and dreams

But I’m finding that nothing’s what it seems

The man I’ve been making love to

All the tears you’ve wiped from my eyes

Kissing me softly

And wrapping me in your arms

But it’s here and now that I realize

Every time you made a promise

I told myself, “I can forgive this�

But it was only me losing sleep

I was just to blind to see

I thought I found myself the perfect man

But all I’ve done is dealt myself a losing hand

I dreamt up an imaginary love

And woke up to find it’s not what I was dreaming of

Thank you for sharing . . . I felt the sorrow of this piece. An innocent sorrow if that makes any sense. As I read I kept thinking how it would make it great song . . .

Your words sound as though they formed in a broken heart, if that's the case I hope there has been healing.

Thank you.  Yes, I was writing lyrics for a song so I'm very happy that you saw that in there.  These lyrics actually were written during a really good time in my life.  The majority of my lyrics/poems are about heartbreak.  It's what I am most drawn to I guess. Thank you again I'm glad that it moved you.

I think it says something about your gift when you can write about something that may not be affecting you at the time and yet still convey that feeling to your readers. Very nice ;o)
