Lost Inside

1 mom liked this

I feel so lost inside
With all the feelings I must hide
The world can be so cold
And the truth is never told

I'm still trying to find the real me
Avoiding to be what everyone wants me to be
Everyone says that I am wrong
But I feel as if I just don't belong

I have dreams of my own
But no one cares to know
So I cry myself to sleep
Holding the thoughts I keep

They say so many things
But I see everything
Read between the lines
And see what you will find

Promises of forever
Family sticks together
Still I feel unwanted and alone
Like I don't even have  a home

I'm still trying to find the real me
Avoiding to be what everyone wants me to be
Everyone says that I am wrong
But I feel as if I just don't belong

I feel so lost inside
With all the feelings I must hide
The world can be so cold
And the truth is never told

Something I think many can relate to . . . Sad reality. I love the poem, my only critique would concern the meter of your peice. It can make a huge difference to the reader in terms of flow if you try and keep the syllable count from one sentence to the next fairly close.

Sometimes the best way to gauge this is to have someone else read it aloud and listen carefully to how the words flow from their lips.
