Broken Doll
Pain insists that she remember
Shame requires that she repress
Forever damaged by his madness
Shes alone in her distress

Shes a damaged broken doll
Her seams are torn and ragged
Shes no good to anyone
She strugles to understand it

Drowning in his madness
Hiding in her shame
Will she ever understand it
Should she take the blame?

Monster
Hiding in her closet
Monster at the door
The one meant to protect her
Throws her to the floor

Such a fragile body
Mind shatters just like glass
No more weakness from her
But the pain will never pass

Spare the rod and spoil the child
This hurts me more than you
Hiding in her closet
Monster stories all come true

Now that child is gone
She is all grown up
Life is set before her
She drinks deaply from the cup

She thought she had escaped
He no longer haunts her dreams
But the monster now returns
Lifes not always as it seems

She is back inside her closet
And the monsters at the door
If the monster finds her
He will hurt her as before

Powerful words I can sadly relate to ~ nicely written form and flow. I hope to read more of your work soon . . .
