Okay, I wanted to try out an idea for a challenge.... We tried this in my creative writing (only we pulled out crayons and got that color).  Let me know what you think about it!

Allright here's how it goes....

First scroll down and look at the colors....

Find one you like....

Click on it to find the name....

Write a poem about that color. (The color's name should also be in the title)

  • I couldn't get all the colors I wanted to up. Too long of a post... Sorry you'll have to work with what's here I guess. I'm not even sure which ones got deleted since it wouldn't show me which ones I was clicking on when I edited.

Oh and the name will be at the top of the screen when u click, not next to hue!

  • I posted it in here because I have way too much time on my hands right now. heh. Also, another admin (Deanna) pointed out it made more sense to keep them in here together. I agreed. ^_^

    Carribean Green Memories

    Carribean Green
    haunts my thoughts,
    the memories
    sharp and poignant.

    I remember shells
    sparkling upon the sand,
as they throw back the light
    from a newly risen sun.

    I remember the waves
    cresting upon jagged rocks
    and blackened sand,
    carribean green swirling with black.

    I remember the way
    we sat in silence,
    awed by a beauty
    so far, unsurpassed.

    I remember the love
    that was formed and lost,
    in the swirling waters
    of carribean green.

  • I'll add mine here as well then ~ I'm looking forward to reading MORE! C'mon, guys  :o) Pick a color or two!

    In The Black Of Night

    Wrapped around me,
       a shroud I cannot shed.
    Consuming me in nothing,
       binding me and blinding me,
    stealing stars from my sky.
       Weightless it crushes me.
    Invisible it surrounds me.
       Voiceless it deafens me.
    Caresses me . . .
       with fingers nonexistent,
    leaving goosebumps
       upon my skin,
    seducing me to sleep.
      A blanket of black
    slowly covers my eyes,
       the night devours me
till the sun begins to rise.

  • Desert Sand Upon My Skin

    Softest rays
       of gentlest light
          awaken me
        to the dawn
      of new day.
    Not yet ready
        to relinquish
          the night,
        silently
      I remain to
     slumber.
    Arms of love,
        the color
          of windswept
        desert sand
      wrap me
     in familiar
       comfort
         with warmth
          that rivals
        the now
     risen
    sun.

My husband always has such a beautiful tanned glow about him while I am whiter than white, with the exception if more than a few freckles :o)

  • Shocking pink

    My hair's done up,
    some new style.
I watch a girl walk by,
as I leave my chair behind.
    Electrifying,
    unreal,
shocking pink's the color of the day.
    Head to toe,
    some new statement I suppose...
    Shocking pink:
    Hair.
    Nails.
    Clothes.
    Shoes.
    Eyes!
    Have I grown this old,
    to be  caught so off-guard
    by a color such as
    Shocking Pink?

  • heh I clicked on Mahogany, and it just so happens i wrote a poem a while back that was kind of about mahogany. I'm creatively (and emotionally) exhausted at the moment. Sorry i couldn't come up with something fresh.

Mahogany Hair And You Are Free

    Vagrant spirit freed,
    stallion makes the world his home;
    shy muscles ripple.

  • First of all there is some really good work in here. I am almost ashamed to put mine in,it sounds like a kids rhyme. I thought I clicked on a color of blue, but it turned out to be in the black family called Outer Space.

    Outer Space
If I were in Outer Space
Would I feel out of place?
In the dark void, would I feel at home?
Among the the stars and planets would I roam?
Would my family go with me?
To study the comets and their history
    Moons ,asteroids, and galaxies
Outer Space is filled with mysteries.
Would I live in Outer Space?
    And marvel in its grace
    It just goes on forever,
To get to the end, would take forever!
From there I could always see,
How the people on Earth would be.
Maybe I'm not the only one,
Who wants to live this phenomenon.

  • Hehe...how appropriate that the hillbilly picks the color "denim" !! Here goes nuthin...

              Denim Dreams

His dark wavy hair showed beneath his cap
his sun tanned arms were strong as he worked
I remember how his eyes sparkled in the sun,
how his shirt clung to him, in the heat of the day
and, how he looked in that dirt covered denim

I remember the night we shared,
the feel of my fingers through his hair
how his strong arms wrapped around my waist
and the feel of his calloused hands against my skin

Its been years since I've felt his touch
but, I still feel it every night as I drift into sleep
I see his face in my thoughts..
    and, in my denim dreams.....
