I visit a Poetry site ( www.poets.com) on occasion and they have challenges and I enjoyed doing this one.  You write a poem in your own form using this as the first line:

Morning starts with my ringing alarm.

I'll start,

Morning starts with my ringing alarm,
Grab my purse and get in the car.
OH wait!! I forgot to dress,
Look at me I am a mess.
Change of clothes something’s missing,
Little cheeks I should be kissing.
Sound asleep up in their room,
Awake! Awake! and start to groom.
Look at the clock I'm running late,
Hurry up kids I can't wait.
In the car we start to leave,
I gaze at my shirt, a stain on my sleeve.
Back inside I scurry more,
A little one is at my door.
"I feel sick" is what she says,
I'll let you guess what happens next.
A little glimpse of my morning,
Anything can happen without warning.

that was fantastic! I am so sleepy right now i can't think of a line of verse that would come out right. I just had a moment to come by and peek. The adventure of life has had me jumping and I am just trying to keep pace. *smile* Is that possible? I contiune to push forward...and pray.

I loved this. I hope I can come by again later and take the challenge. group hug

I read your poem...the juices started flowin.  Here is my addition.

mornings here are oh so fun,
no help I get from anyone.
wake the kids, the coffee pour,
forgive me lord, I need much  more.
we leave at eight..it's ten of now
breakfast done, lets not have a cow.
oh my god I forgot his pills,
the buss is gone, it's all down hill.
must run to school, before they call
because my boy will get into all.
Then come home and clean my house,
and try to be as quiet as a church mouse
When they get home, a mess again
so in the morning  again I begin

Morning starts

with my ringing alarm

my blind hand searches

hits the snooze

if only I can drift for ten more minutes.

pixie dust and peter pan..

my dream halts

with my ringing alarm

little hands touch my cheek

I'm sick mommy.

Eyes wide open: what's wrong baby?

 different kind of ringing alarm.

My moring starts with a sinking heart.

everything else like silent show..

drifting quickly

  breakfast, done. children gone

doctor's office ,

here I come.

peter pan and pixie dust?

heh

I hold my baby tight once more.

you can tell it's way too late for me to even attempt to write. may be tomorrow morning will bring more legible nonsense.

thanks for the inspiration. it's been a while.

Love and salaam (peace)

haha this seems fun... mine isn't pretty or serious but its my daily routine!

Morning starts with my ringing alarm

It's out of bed and it's appealing charm.

Put on my coat and out the door

It is so cold its only a quarter past 4!

I walk the dog, or is it he walks me?

I'm back at home and the cold has me rushing to pee!

Turn on the TV and plug in the cd player

Turn on Jillian Michael's and under my breath angrily swear.

25 minutes later I hop in the shower

Rejuvenate my energy and beg God to let me stay in for an hour.

He tells me no by turning my hot water cold so I grab my towel and wrap my hair

Step out of the shower and drip water everywhere!

Put on my clothes, my make up too and try to brush my hair,

Run around the house looking for my hair brush everywhere!

Wake the boyfriend, the daughter, get knocked over by the dog

Slip in that puddle, rip my pants, leaving my head in the fog.

Rush out the door drop the girl at school

Get to work and realize that my lunch is home, oh I'm such a fool.

My daughter has limb girdle muscular dystrophy. She may waddle, she may fall, but she is not ignorant. She sees you stare. She hears you snicker. Her heart aches like mine and yours when people laugh at her. Be polite and ask about her condition rather than be rude and make fun of her. Please educate yourself, as I can only educate her so much about ignorance and stupidity. I can only tell her so much about just how cruel the world can be.

Morning starts with my ringing alarm

If I had one it would do no harm

I usually sleep through them if I am too tired

My nights are long which can make mornings dire

Sometimes when I wake I want to holler

I am not ready yet please don't let it be so...

I just went to bed my sleeping is not done

getting up this early is not fun

I rush to put on hot water to warm the kitchen a bit

then it's off up stairs to wake the unwakeable

speaking nicely at first then threatening at the end

time for sleeping is over, get your butt out of bed

so on and so on, mornings are not my best time

when I have to prepare the boys for school I'd

rather decline
