This is my 9 Yr olds 1st "best friend". They just clicked. She has only been living here a year. Her parents are divorced and her Mom is not happy here so she is moving back to the town they lived in. She often gave up playing with anyone but this friend for the entire year. My husband and I tried to discourage this as we thought something like this may happen. This girl made my shy daughter take acting classes and perform on stage. Now I know she still has it in her but she tells me she is giving up acting. She doesen't know who she will sit on the bus with because she has stopped playing with a lot of her friends to play with this girl.
I am glad she had this experience but like myself she has separation anxiety. help any advice accepted.

My son has been through alot himself this summer/year.  My daughter graduated in 2008 and left for the army.  My middle son graduated this year and went to the army.  Then my youngest boys' bestfriend up and moved on him.  He became isolated and moody....very depressed.  I learned very quickly that I needed to force him up and out of the house.  Don't let your daughter quit her activities.  Her friend would not want her to stop doing them just cuz she is no longer with her.  With her doing the acting and stuff has she been a part of a club or is this private teachers?  If it is a club...invite the other people her age over to have a little party.  Over time she will adjust and open up again.
