by Cindymomofbgb on Oct. 22, 2008 at 7:03 PMI know it sounds simple but my kids will always draw or color even at the age of one. So I always carry paper and a pen or crayons or markers. When they are more preschool age in a doctor's waiting room or somewhere where you can interact with them play "I spy'. We play many variations of 'I spy', like I spy something that is a certain color to I spy something that starts with a certain letter of the alphabet to I spy something that make this noise. At church or a performance we let them bring one quiet toy (a Barbie or a stuffed animal) it lasts for a while at least, otherwise they draw. When we are in the car waiting to pick up kids from school I have a stack of chidren's books that I read to help keep them occupied. Hope this helps, waiting is never fun. |

by Heather7296 on Oct. 23, 2008 at 7:31 AMdoesn't always work 100% but I bring a notebook and colored pencils or crayons and a snack. I hate to admit it but a bribe always works too, "if you behave we can got to look at the toys at Walmart or where ever. |
