Help with my kitchen and living room

I stay in a one bedroom apartment and I want to decorate my kitchen and my living room in great colors. I like browns, grays, purples, blues. I would like your advice on some things I can use to decorate my home. Thanks ladies :)

Welcome, to our group. Is your kitchen and living room combined or separate? I love aqua blue with brown for the bedroom,actually I'm trying to do my bedroom this color now. What color is your walls? Also,I get a lot of ideas from HGTV,they have awesome online help.

 I am a play it safe kinda girl...neutral colors on walls, floors, & furniture (the most costly things to change) & use my favorite colors on less expensive  things to replace....throw pillows, blankets, candles, pics,  vases etc...  A light gray would be a great (Neutral) color base to use with all your other fav. colors. I like to change decor to often to go bold on the more expensive things(wall, flooring, furniture). Good luck...the bottom line is what makes you happy:)

 You probably cant paint in your apartment so bring the color out in window treatments, pillows, area rugs and pictures! A nice throw in the colors you like would look good too!

Can you post pictures of the room so we could see the layout and the existing colors?  It would help us alot in the kind of advice we give..and like Jerseygirl said...can you paint???????????

 Lots of color and you will have a beautiful home. Place mats in the kitchen, pics. with color,bright pillows on the sofa and also pics. and curtains with color.

Are your couches already a grey-ish neutral? I love the way grey, plum, white and a sparkling navy color look together. Maybe new window treatments, recover the pillows on the back of the couch, new or paint some of your existing accessories. Good luck!
