I'm making my new baby a quilt and ds wants one too and I didn't think to look up how or anything but so far it's cost me roughly 5 bucks without batting and backing yet.

So lemme ask. An I doing it right if I cut fabric into squares and then see them together in a patern as big as I want it. Then get my backing and batting.

I can post pics tomorrow if you ladies would like to see and I may start making quilts as an extra source of income if i did this right. It looks sooo cute so far.

quilting can be as simple or as difficult as you want to make it. My grandmother makes tons of quilts by just cutting squares and sewing. My first quilt is a lap-size and it's a rail fence pattern, my next one was more irritating of a pattern because I took the rail fence and then cut it diagonally so each square ended up being 4 triangles and then i rearranged them. OMG that one took forever and ended up being a larger lap size quilt, lol.
