Does anyone have a hemp soap recipe? I would like to find one where I can use the leaves of my plants instead of purchasing hemp oil.

i'm moving this from the pregnancy forum over to the hemp forum for you :)

i don't know anything about making soap, but i'm not sure if you'd get the same results from using hemp leaves as you would from using hemp oil. hemp oil is extracted from the plant, and from my understanding that is a really hard process that requires a lot of plant material to get a significant amount. the leaves won't give the same benefits as the oil would, and the leves woudl just sort of flake away as the soap is used.

I guess that was what I was trying to say. I wanted to extract the oil from the leaves, not use the leave in the soap. lol   We have used the leaves to make butter and it has always come out excellent. Was trying to find another way to utilize the leaves as well.

hemp and marijuana are not the same plant, just cousins. the reason mj works in butter is because butter is a fat, and THC sticks to fat. THC is in marijuana in quantity, but hemp has so little it barely registers and would be impossible to consume the amount that would give a person a "high". i'm not sure you'd get the same benefits from using oil derived from mj- there are uses for it, but not really any beauty uses. hemp is generally used for that, and it's illegal to grow in the US (assuming you live in the states), i'm not sure if you'd be abe to get enough hemp plant material to try extracting oil from it yourself, and even if you could, it's such a tricky method it may not be worth it or cost-effective. one way is to use a distiller, and those run really expensively, liek a few hundred dollars. that's why essential oils are kinda pricey.

i would just keep using mj leaves in butter or in other recipes (you can check the recipe forum, there are recipes in there that have you just add leaves without turning it into butter).
