Chocolate Buds...aka Brownies. One of my personal favorite recipes! :)
CHOCOLATE BUDS
I modified this recipe a little...works great and tastes wonderful! :)
Oh yeah...I also always melt the butter/chocolate in a double boiler...less chance for scorching and sticking that way.
Dont have a double boiler? Put a smaller pan into slightly bigger pan that's filled partially with water. Works fine! :)
Start with Hershey's Premium Baking Bar Unsweetened Chocolate (or any other baking chocolate will do).
1 cup butter (2 sticks...use real butter).
4 squares of chocolate
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup of flour
vanilla extract (just a dash...to taste)
Chopped nuts, if desired.
Start with dry hemp leaves and grind them up to a fine powder. I add this to the melted butter and heat for about 1 minute (on lower heat). Then let cool.
Heat oven to 350 F, Grease 13x9x2 (inch) pan.
Heat chocolate until melted and stir Herb butter into it with wooden spoon until smooth.
Stir in sugar.
Add eggs one at a time.
Add vanilla extract
Stir in flour mixture.
Add nuts if desired (a very nice touch I think) and bake for approximately 35 minutes or until sides pull away from pan. DO NOT overbake!
Makes 3 dozen brownies.
Take 2 and wait an hour. Take 4 and cruise for 12 hours. Enjoy!
Possibly. There's a way to make cocoa powder the equilalent of baking chocolate by adding shortening or more butter to it; can't remember off hand what that would be. Perhaps look it up at recipes.com?
I'm not sure how they would turn out...probably just fine. Let us know if you decide to try, ok? :)

Sounds yummy. I had the recipe then I lost them. Could you put cocoa powder instead of solid chocolate for the brownies?
I make them with cocoa powder. For this size batch I use 2/3 cup of cocoa. just melt the herb butter( made ahead of time in rice cooker) in the microwave and stir the sugar in the melted butter than stir in cocoa powder. Then mix in eggs, vanilla and dry ingredients.

I'm sure it would depend on the potency of the medicine you're using. In this recipe she's using trimmings, however, if you used buds it would require less. most recipes I've seen use about 1/4 oz of buds. Our GO is pretty inactive, because of all of the wonderful things she does off line (running her own medicine dispensary, and other legalization efforts). I hope that my input helps :D

Yes it did. Thank you!

Thank you so much, AudlyLuvly...I really have been gone for a while. I've since graduated and have been teaching the anishinaabe language, working with our community, helping with my grandkids, being a medical marijuana careprovider/grower and advocate for the Herb, and a few other "things". :)
But I've so missed being in here, so before I get back to school to work on getting my master's degree in education (and teaching my course again), I'm going to make an honest effort to find time to get back in here more. And I'll be bringing some new friends with.
My apologies for being AWOL for so long...and my big thanks for all that you've done to keep our group going. "See" you soon... :)
