Anyone in the area dealing with speech delays? I'm really trying to find some moms and kids dealing with this issue.

sorry I don't have that issue, but I will see if I know anyone who is and let you know!

My daughter is speech delayed and I'm waiting to get an appt in the books for therapy.  I did notice, though, that after being around her cousins all day, she did get a bit better w/in a couple of months.  I'm trying to incorporate sign language as well.

Hi! My son is almost 6 years old and has been in speech therapy for the past 3 years.

the sign language might contribute to the delay, it did for my daughter

I don't know how old your child is, but when we were in HI I put my daughter in a preschool that specialized in kids w/ speech language delays.  She's five now and speaking VERY well.  When we went to the base hospital, the therapist there told me they only specialize in delays that are medically related (ie: cleft palate).  I found the Scottish Rite and am truly thankful I did.  I had to pay (on a sliding scale) for the preschool which included group and individual therapy, but here in SD they don't have the preschool, just individual therapy.  It's free though. Awesome, awesome, awesome program!  The San Diego chapter is off of the I-8 near fashion valley.  Info below:     http://www.scottishritesandiego.org/
