If you have a child with a wheat allergy, gluten allergy or intolerance, or celiac disease, you know how difficult it is to find something along the lines of play doh for them to play with. My son has a gluten intolerance and, at 3 years of age, has played with Play Doh ONCE, with direct supervision and immediately washed his hands. Its not something I keep in my house for fear he'll do what most kids do, and just have a taste.
We were at Toys R Us yesterday and saw something called Moon Dough, by the makers of Moon Sand. It is wheat free and hypoallergenic. We bought a play set and an extra tub of dough. When we got home, DS begged to open it, so we did. This stuff is AMAZING! Its not moist, its very dry, but it molds easily and if you get it on yourself, you can just brush it off. It sweeps right up, so now difficult to clean up mess. It is easy to mold, comes in great colors and is TONS of fun.
If your child has been play doh deprived, as mine has, I'm sure you'll appreciate knowing about this product. It is SO fun, I kept making little animals after he went to bed, lol.

Thanks for this information! I will look into buying some for our son.
OH I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!! My son's classroom bought this to accommodate my son's Celiac Disease. All the kids loved it! It was so nice because my son could not participate until they got this.
I enrolled my son in preschool today and I failed to ask them about play doh and whether they could make an accommodation such as this. I'll have to ask them the next time I'm up there.
