Hello all. I have recently had an allergy test and it came up positive for the majority of the allergens. I seem to be allergic to literally everything in the environment category to various degrees and about 80% of the foods listed. I have a constant headache and imflamed sinuses and live on ibuprofen. I get sinus infections twice a year that move into my inner ear and give me vertigo for months. (vestibular imbalance due to infection damage)
I am wondering if there is the possibility of some other underlying condition? Are there other medical problems that create such vast allergies?
There has been some research to suggest a connection between environmental allergies and low vitamin D. You should research it. Maybe you'll find some answers/help. Also, chiropractice care helps with overall health, so that may provide some relief for you as well. I suggest you look into it.
Thank you both for your input. I will look into these possibilities. :)
If you're gut is "leaky," you'll react to a lot of foods as if they were allergens. Do a search for "leaky gut syndrome." Basically, your gut can get damaged, probably by a long-time flora/yeast imbalance, and it will become more porous, letting food particles into your bloodstream.
My daughter and I have both done a lot of probiotic therapy and rid ourselves of most of the allergy reactions. You can see a Naturopath for probiotic recommendations (we used Saccharomyces Boulardii and acidophilus) and/or increase fermented foods in your diet. We also dramatically reduced our carb intake, nearly eliminating grains and completely avoiding dairy.
hormonal shifts are also related to acquiring allergies later in life. This is happening to me as we speak and also a friend of mine. It just so happened that it started developing after we had babies. I also agree with other things mentioned above.
My son has similar issues. He gets allergy shots weekly for his airborne allergies. He's also on a special diet. We've eliminated all foods he has issues with. He's been on the diet for 3 years and he is doing remarkably well on it. It does take a lot of work in the beginning to find foods to eat and recipes to try, but the longer you do it, the better you'll feel!
Good luck!
Let me begin by saying that all of the replies should be helpful to you as you research what is going on with your body. I can speak to the sinuses if you want a natural approach to calm down the sinus tissue. I have severe sinus issues and migraines as a result. Allergies, pollen, dust, smoke of any kind, and stress effect the sinuses. Try a few natural cleansing techniques that should get the tissue from being so irritated and bacteria or viral infected. First, use the ancient Indian tradition of the neti pot. You can purchase one at your local drug store. Rinse your sinuses with a full neti pot (clean warm water and non-iodized sterile salt) each evening and morning religiously. If you are having a sinus infection you can rinse your sinuses 3 or 4 times per day. Next, get some eucalyptus oil and steam your face (great for the skin too) with a few drops of the oil in the water. Do this when you have a sinus infection to loosen the flem. The eucalyptus helps with the loosening and other properties which you can research. Lastly, ask your allergist if you can use a nasal antihistamine. It is much better than ibuprofen. Overuse of nsaids is quite damaging to your internal organs. This should get you to a healthier place while you are combating the other allergies. As far as your allergic response....all allergies are related to an immune system reaction therefore your body's immune system is not at 100%. Strengthening the immune system with foods you can eat that are organic, clean, and simply prepared is a good start because eliminating all of those foods will help you with strengthening the immune system, along with a good probiotic. Try eating as much raw food as possible, eliminate alcohol or other immune suppressing foods/drinks. Good luck to you.
I am also allergic to lots, rice, beans, gluten, dairy, having a reaction this am to something, have u been tested for all foods, etc?
Wow. Thank you all for your insight. It seems that there are many avenues to investigate. Helps me feel like there is at least the possibility of getting a handle on this. At Mto608: I did have tests a couple times and was doing shots for a while. Although the things I was allergic to changed, it was still an amazingly high percent. I was allergic to most of the things I was tested for. Good luck to all of you who are battling this same problem :)
