My family is moving to Omaha in April. What do I have to look forward too? I know nothing about Omaha. We lived in O'neil once, for 6 weeks, for DH's job. I didn't particularly like it. But I hear Omaha is great.

Omaha is great for families. One great resource is momsofomaha.com. If you are SAHM, another resource is momsclub.org. We have several chapters here. I have a 9 and 7 year old, but I'd be happy to help you navigate the city. Do you know where you are going to be living yet?

the zoo in omaha is awesome and so is the children museum. i have a 2yr little girl that i love taking to the zoo. im a sahm, i would be more than happy to hang out with you.

Psh! I don't have a good answer for you, sorry. I've lived here all my life and I'm DYING to get out. The old Market is pretty cool, the Zoo is fantastic, the Children's museum is a lot of fun. It's a good city for businesses, not a great place for parks/recreation though you don't have to travel too far to find some nice state parks, just not much in-town. As long as you have money you can spend freely it's not a bad place.
