Has your daughter started wearing a bra yet? If so, in what grade did she get her first bra? Start wearing it every day? If not, when do you intend to buy her her first bra (at a certain age/grade level, when she buds, etc)?

I bought my oldest daughter her 1st bra when she was in 4th grade, 9 years old...she's 10 now and wears a bra to school or out in public. She also likes to wear tank tops under shirts with certain outfits bc she hates the bra already, lol. But, she has to wear one...

I honestly think it varies from girl to girl.  Regardless of age, if they need one they need one.  My daughter is 8 and in the 3rd grade.  She began wearing one this past summer.  It was definitely needed.  When you can easily see through their shirts that they are developing, then they need a bra.  Initially she wore a little camisole, but she is hot natured and it quickly became a problem.  I then bought her some "sports bras" - nothing fancy and definitely nothing padded.  She like them at first, then hated them.  I had to insist that she wear it everyday.  Now she does so with no problem - thank God!

momofroni - what's "hot natured?"

My daughter is 9 and needs a bra.  The camisoles aren't working anymore (jiggles when she runs & plays).  Like someone else here posted, I'm not looking for a padded bra yet, but definately something with support and the material has to feel soft for her to wear it every day.

What brand or store did you all get your's from?  Guess I have to measure her, because some come in S, M, L and others 28, 30, 32....

Thanks!

When my daughter was nine, we bought a bunch of camisoles with the "shelf" When she was 12 we went to Loehmann's for real bras; she had so much fun picking and trying on!

My daughter is a little over weight so I don't think she has boobs, but maybe some excess fat that looks like boobs not sure...lol  she is in third grade and I bought her those bra tops that look lilke half of a tank top to wear until white and things that are tight.  Sometimes she layers her clothes and will wear a tank underneath another shirt.  I didn't want anyone to make fun of her so I bought them.  I just get them at target.
