What is your kid's favorite subject and Lunch and Recess don't count, lol.

My son loves science, he's always been fascinated with anything that has to do with astronomy and insects. He can name all the planets which he learned from going to daddy's astronomy class. He can also recognize and name a lot of different beetles. He's only in 2nd grade, now only if I can get him to write more, lol.

Honestly Amy is enjoying school all around this year. She is in 5th grade and can't wait for middle school next year.  I think her favorite subject depends on the day.  Math is right up there if not #1 of late.

ugh...i wish! Tiara is having a hard time adjusting to the reality of what school is - first grade gives them a reality check - she hates not having show-n-tell and not having quiet time - hates homework....she just isnt adjusting well, but at least she is doing well accedimically.

her favorite things aobut school is art class....whihc fits her personality - she is creative and thinks outside the box!

her reading material for thanksgiving breal is a book of poems called someting like "i like school..." and last night when i said it was time to read a few poems she said "but i DONT like school and that is what that book is about!" ...thank goodness the poems are funny!

Good luck with the reading. My son made a book of Thanksgiving jokes but he hasn't finished it, but I will make him do it. He needs the writing practice. I hope she'll eventually start warming up to school.

Autym is in the third grade and enjoys math and science.... she hates reading. She is also tops in her class in Religion.

I just wanted to say, rkoloms, that Autym starts Latin classes next year in school. Does your child enjoy the classes? Is it very hard to learn? Our students take spanish in preK - 3rd grade, and then they add Latin to the curricula in 4th-8th grade.

I am a Private School sending, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Homework Helping, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Academic pushing Mum. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it raising my child - I will do that, Thank You. I believe that a woman's place is in the home taking care of her house, children and husband. I am submissive and proud, my husband is head of my home. I am a proud, traditional Roman Catholic, as is my husband... Yes we are teaching our daughter that The Church is the only Church.               Aimee

Latin is such a great basis for learning other Romance languages. My daughter's elementary school teaches Latin in all (K-6) grades. It includes lots of history, culture and mythology. The kids all love the class and the teacher (who is a graduate of the school). At the end of the school year they have a Roman banquet for 5th and 6th grade; the kids wear togas and the 5th graders are "slaves" to the 6th grade "masters".
