Welcome, Heather!  Glad to have you!

If he's having some difficulty, try not to fret too much.  Have you checked out any online learning sites for kids?  A couple to try are http://www.starfall.com/

and http://www.coolmath4kids.com/

Both of my kids have used these, and starfall is heavily recommended by teaching professionals.  Check them out and just let him play and learn.

welcome

Glad you're here.

I think the single most important thing you can do is read every day and make it fun!

Enjoy these last days before kindergarten . . . life moves very quickly once school starts, that's for sure.  :)

Hi Heather and Welcome!

It is so exciting to watch your child learn.

I wouldn't worry about what you child will learn in school, just make sure that he knows the basics. If the school didn't give you list, I would start with these:

  • being able to print his name, address and phone number
  • zip/button clothing
  • tie shoes
  • go the the bathroom unassisted
  • count to at least 20
  • know colors and shapes

http://www.pbskids.org/ has great learning games.

Enjoy!
