I'm hoping someone can help me, I need to find a book that introduces and talks about the food pyramid. Nothing too complicated to understand, preferably for students around 2nd/3rd grade but at this point any suggestions will do. Thank you

Actually - I'd go with something like this

http://www.mypyramid.gov/kids/index.html

unless you need a book for a group/class setting

Also - beware of any book you buy to make sure it's updated.

The revised food pyramid is no longer broken up horizontally -but vertically!

I was going to suggest this website as well.  It has a cool calculator on it where your kids can plan a meal based on the pyramid.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment.  I need an actual book, this is for a class assignment and coming up with an appropriate book to share is a must. I did come across  showdown food pyramid but like was stated here, it's a little out of date. Thank you again.
