So with our recent financial struggles, I'm really really trying to do an overhaul on how I budget, feed my family and just LIVE. It's hard when I came from well off parents who had almost everything we wanted (ok they never just went out and bought us a car at 16 or paid $100 for shoes, but we had money for vacations, any school event, clothes, whatever food we wanted, you know the good stuff). And dh was a bachelor until 29, he got what he wanted with his paycheck. So we think we need certain things for our kids and all. Well we want to get money in savings so we are acting like we are about to be on the streets (no worries, our mortgage is paid on time). I do get Wic but don't qualify for any other assistance, and I've been brainstorming new ways to use our stuff!! And a great idea popped in my head! Bean dip for the kids. That's their fav at a Mexican restaurant but since we aren't going out anymore they can get it at home. It was so easy to make, and 1lb sure makes a lot. And my guinea pig who stayed home today loves it. And it's healthy and filling. I'm so excited!!!

Ok, all i did was soak the beans for about 6 hours, than slow cook them all night in the crock pot.

Then I used a blender (but food processor might be easier), and blender up some beans with chopped onions, salt and cumin.
