I live in a small 3 bedroom house. About 3.5 years ago, we decided to take down the wall between my oldest daughter's room and my twins room. They like sharing their room but at the same time my oldest wants her "own room"...without putting the wall back up.
I was thinking of moving her bed to one side of the room and keep their beds on the other side. I also want to add tables/desks BUT we still have toy boxes, bookshelves for their books AND bookshelves for their videos and games. The issue here is that I need storage ideas so I can add tables/desks.
They don't have a "closet" because the wall we took down was their closets so now they have a wardrobe storage from IKEA to hold their clothes.
I'd like to hear what kind of storage ideas and tricks you have to hold books, toys, videos, games, etc.
I'm getting baskets to put on the shelves we will be hanging in the wall. The baskets will be to store little things.
I wish I could find the photo, but I can't remember where I saw it -- anyway, the headboard served dual purposes -- the headboard was about 10 inches deep and went almost to the ceiling. It was headboard from floor to about 2 feet above where the top of the mattress hit -- from that point up, it was shelving. about 10 inches deep, 12 in tall between each shelf. This is where the girl, in the article, put all her books, toys, etc -- on the top shelf were things that were special or breakable. The second Idea for privacy is - okay, this is harder to explain, I'll try to draw it on paint..... don't laugh... have to try cause it is so cool!

I know this isn't a table idea but it may help with some more storage space issues. And ALL of theses items can be found in the kitchen storage area or at goodwill, etc. You can use these for hair ties, or craft supplies or desk supplies.

Here is a nightstand idea and it doubles as storage.Use it to store out of season clothing, extra blankets, pillows or stuffed animals.

Use a coffee table similar to this for the table and it has storage for toys.
When my kids were smaller I used a cedar chest with a flat top as a toy box / coffee table in my living room. They loved it for using to color on top of and building legos on top of.
If you choose to use the book shelves as a room divider, consider buying one of those shoe storage
things and hang it to the back side of the book shelf to put small toys or stuffed animals, barbies, etc, inside.
