Do you like getting household items as gifts from your spouse?

Set aside appreciation and "it's the thought that counts" and all that.  Realistically, how do you feel about getting household items (i.e. vaccuum, dishwasher, etc) as a christmas gift just for you?

It depends on if I've asked for it and how bad I wanted it.  If I say "I know what you can get me for Christmas!!  A dishwasher!!"  Then I wouldn't be upset if I got it for Christmas, lol.

I don't mind as long as it is something I want or could use, however DH will not buy me household stuff because he feels that is not fair or a present and instead if I need something for the house I should just buy it when I need it.

Yes but if that is what you want..that's okay.

I cook to eat.  I try to spend as little time in the kitchen as possible.

I clean because I should.

Now, if my husband gave me a gift card to IKEA...that would be different.  haha

If it'smy idea or something that I'm drooling over but would never spend $$ on then I don't mind.

A gift card to IKEA would totally rock!

I like to cook but like you I clean because I should.

I love it, actually. He always asks if there's anything I would need around the Holidays. It's his go-to idea when he's got nothing else to go on.
