I have a son in kindergarten and latley he is scared to go to school. It is breaking my heart to leave him thee when i know something is wrong. I try to talk to him everyday about it and his teachers are trying to work with us asa well but any suggestions on how to get him to open up and talk about what is really the problem would be greatly appricieated. The beging of teh year was wonderful he loved it but in the first part of december everything changed.

Nice to meet you everyone. My son was a preemie and everyone said that he would have learning disorders. Just had the parent teacher conferences and was told he is advanced academically. When he was in Pre-school he was very shy. The teacher wanted him to go to Pre-K because she felt he would not make it in regular kindergarten. My husband and I talked about it because we really did not want to do it just because of shyness. I was also extremely shy in school but did very well acadmically. So we decided to have Preston in regular kindergarten. Good decision. About the little one that is scared to go to school. Preston has gone through that and I got it out if him that a kid was picking on him. We went to the principal and the situation got taken care of. Also one thing I do when I am not working is volunteer to help out in the class. Or I sign in as a guest visitor for part of the day just so I can kind of observe him. I did discover there is a substitute teacher he does not like and just by watching her it even made me nervous when I visited one day.
