DOING AWAY WITH EIC (EARNED INCOME CREDIT)?????

My mom and brother told me that starting next year on taxes, people will no longer be able to claim EIC (earned income credit).  Is this true?  I googled searched it, but only found that Obama is doing away with earned income credit advances, which is totally different from the EIC that people claim on their taxes. If they do, we are sunk, because our tax check is what we use to send our son to a Private Christian School. It pays most of his tuition, and then we add some to it every month. Please tell me what you have heard about this ladies!!!!

As far as I have read - there is no truth to this. In fact, the only ones calling for an elimination of the EIC are the republican and tea-party presidential hopefuls

Why would it be a smart decision based on our economy right now?

I hope not. I depend on the money from the EIC to pay bills. I don't just blow that money on crap, I actually put it towards things I need.

How does having lower income parents paying more taxes help the economy? I still don't understand. Please explain.

No, if they do away with EIC, the amount of people totally depending on welfare will rise considerably.

I tried googling it too, and I didn't see anything either that it is being taken away. Just that the advancement is no longer happening. Maybe they misunderstood a news story about the advancement ending?
