My girls have gotten it twice from school. The only thing that worked for us was the little battery operated comb. You can find it at Walgreens and you must use it EVERY night for 2 weeks. I also put a couple drops of Tea Tree oil in their shampoo as I have heard that it repels lice. Whether it does or not I don't know for sure but we haven't "caught" lice in well over a year now.

Clean hair is the best place for lice. They don't like dirty, oily, or hair with gel or other hair care products. They could be in the mattress, carpet, curtains, couches, or other furniture also... Not just the bedding. When lice enters the house one must treat the entire house.

I just had an inservice on this at work.  If you give e-mail me her/your address I will send you what I have. There is also a company that you can hire to get rid of them.

I know it is gross, but lice don't spread illness/diease.  They are gross yes, but when they get rid of them they should not come back.

Here is my e-mail.

Yes, you have to wash everything...all the stuffed animals, anything fabric, vacuum your rugs very well, etc etc. It is a PITA but it does get rid of them eventually. All it takes is one egg for you to get reinfested within a few days.

Occasionally I sprinkle some borax ( found in the laundry isle) on my rugs, let it sit for about 20 minutes and then vacuum it up ( make sure you empty/ get rid of the bag your vacuum afterwards!!). I know the borax will kill fleas and other little creepy crawlers and have heard it kills lice as well.

I have a lot of people dumping animals on my street, plus I do animal rescue and yes, occasionally soem of the animals have some fleas and though I have been lucky in my house so far I treat my rugs, just to make sure...lol

I heard you are to wash your hair in manyonis. They probably have tried that. Maybe trying to find the soucer of where the lice are coming. Also the no sharing combs, hats etc. But maybe time to talk to a Doctor. That's all I got. Hope the problem get's solved soon.

There are professional people that can come and get rid of them. Clearly they have tried and were not successful. Let the professionals handle this.
