I have told my kids and told turk that I leave at 7:20, if they aren't ready, I'll leave them. Well, today, I followed through with it. My daughter wasn't ready, so I left and she had to walk. Now, we don't live in a big city nor do we live fast from school. Maybe now she'll be ready

It all depends on the child's age. It doesn't matter if you live in a "big city". Sex offenders & murderers don't care where you live.

I would have done the same thing and our school is about 3/4 a mile away and uphill lol. And they have had to walk before cause they missed the bus and i was at work. Of course a friend walked up with them for me, but i see no problem with it

As long as they aren't little kids I don't see anything wrong with that.

Depending on your daughter's age and whether she'd have to cross busy streets I see no problem with it. We live in a small town but we have several business districts, one of which is down the street from our house as well as both the family court and superior court so during my kids elementary years I don't feel comfortable letting them walk alone because of traffic - they'd have to cross a major street and the side streets that go to the school have no sidewalks. Also as chinosruca stated sex offenders and other criminals could live anywhere, there's three sex offenders registered at address along the busy street my kids would have to walk and while I don't know the specifics of their crimes I'd rather not take the chance.

I wish I could do that. I do get in the car and start it though. They can not walk to school nor do they ride the bus...............

I would have done the same thing, but i think i would have been around the corner so they could not see me and follow them to school... Only because there have been so many kidnappings now I am having a really hard time letting my kids do things without me...

Way to follow through momma.  Empty threats get you nowhere and I bet she will be on time tomorrow.
