I hear this phrase over and over again here in this group and find it odd. We are talking about Elementary school aged children here, not infants and toddlers. When did you quit referring to your child as a baby or do you still refer to them as babies?
This is just another thing that I find interesting and has nothing to do with any one in particular.
Personally, I haven't referred to my children as babies since they were 2 years old. Now they are boys or children.
To appease someone with a reading comprehension problem I will state in big bold red letters THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT PET NAMES FOR YOUR CHILD! Is that better?
I'm feeling wicked!
hell my mom calls me her baby and i'm 35 lol i'm like seriously? she said you could be 80 and still be my baby.
I completely agree with you. My ds is 7 and I tell him he's my baby but he truly isn't one. I would never say his being a baby is an excuse for poor behavior. I stopped saying he was a baby around 1 1/2-2
I stopped referring to my son as "the baby" when he turned three...I called my school age kids "my babies" but I used the phrase "the boy" when talking about well, THE BOY, lol.(usually when he did something that was laugh worthy, lol)
When talking about how irrate i was when I got a note from my son's kindergarten teacher that they were going to have a sex education discussion I yelled "HE'S JUST A BABY!
" in middle school, my son was called "my son" ....but when he came to me and asked me if he could date (WHAAAAT?!?!?!) I had "the talk" with him, and told him if he wanted ask his FRIENDS to go places in groups that would be acceptable, and then later told my husband "the boy wants to DATE...he's just a baby!"
Now that my son is a 25 year old MAN...he is still just my baby, AWWWW!
