my very first thing was scrambled eggs...
The first "meal". I cooked for my parents was fried spam and mac-n-cheese. I got all "fancy" and layered the spam and then the mac in a casserole dish and thought it was the best thing ever! LOL I was probably 9-10yo
My first cookbook recipe...totally without help was hamburger soup. Mom gave me cash and I went grocery shopping all by myself on my bike and had it ready when she came home from work. I was 13 and a freshman.
I don't really remember, I would guess cookies or bread. I began baking with my mom and grandma when I was in early elementary school. My first full meal was steaks, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob. The interesting thing about it is that I cooked it all on an open fire that I had to start myself. I was 10 or 11 years old. My oldest son did the same exact meal last summer.
It was cookies and I was in first grade. But I had been baking other things with my mom long before that. But the cookies were ALL on my own. No help at all, not even when it came to the oven part.
But what I wanna know is, does the easy bake oven count??? Because if it does then I made brownies first, lol. And I was just 4yrs old.
I have no idea. I remember helping to make cookies, but I don't know if that was the first thing or not.
