Anyone have a child with an attitude problem?
I am really on the edge here. I allowed my 10 year old son to go to Six Flags today with his friend and their family. We gave him 50 bucks and he was gone all day. I would say this is a pretty neat treat for a 10 year old. Well, his friends parents drop him off late this evening and he rushes in and says, "mom, can I pleaseeee spend the night with him?" I know he was super excited to be able to be with his friend all day at Six Flags and he didn't want the night to end. But we had plans to go swimming and to the library tomorrow. So I told him no and we have things to do tomorrow. He gets upset and goes straight into his room without even saying good bye to his friend and their family. When they leave he comes out and starts brushing his teeth and then comes into the living room and says he is going to bed. He said it like he was upset and pouting. I CANNOT believe he is giving me such attitude after I let him be gone all day with money to spend. I am sitting her contemplating what kind of child I raised to act so spoiled and ungreatful. And honestly, it really hurts me that he is acting like this. I went into his room and told him I was very disappointed in his behavior after all we let him do today. I told him to just go to bed and don't come out of his room. I am really upset about this. I don't know what his problem is. We do so much for him and he just doesn't see it. I had to hold myself back from completely just going off on him. He is sleeping now and I don't even want to deal with his pouting tomorrow. Is this just the beginning of the awful teenage years I always hear about?? it's terrible and just ruins my whole day
