I am working on making a Summer chores chart for my 7 year old son. What kind of things do you have your 7 year olds doing for chores. So far I have.

Clear off the table after breakfast and dinner.

Pick up all toys in the living room daily

Pick up toys in the play room Mon Wen, Fri

I don't want him doing the trash because its always really heavy, since I have twins in Diapers.

So what else should I add, I want him to do chores for about  30 minutes per day, currently its likes him all of 10 minutes to do what I have listed.

Laundry. My DS(9) started learning how to wash fold and put away his own laundry at 6 years old.

My dd (7 in Aug) feeds and waters our cat every morning and at night.

cleans her room once a week, but has to pick it up every day

cleans the babies' toys up in the living room

and helps watches her brothers while I filter them all through the bath.

she also rinses her own dishes after a meal.

My ds (8), once a week he cleans his bathroom, when laundry is going he has to switch and do the rinses for the laundry.
Both kids keep living room clean of toys/games, clean table after meals, wash table (its glass), unload dishwasher (their dishes and silverware, minus the knives). They are also expected to keep their rooms clean and put their own laundry away.
My dd (4) feeds the cat and helps with dinner.

my 7 yo, unloads the dishwasher- when asked. she clears the table after dinner, but both kids are responsible for bringing their dirty dishes to the sink at breakfast and lunch. she folds the towels on towel day. she makes her bed. they clean the playroom together. she puts her own clothes away after I fold, but she's starting to help me fold (voluntarily). she sets the table for dinner, puts ice in glasses. I'd like to get her started on helping with the laundry, but I have a top loader washer, and she just can't reach. I'm going to teach her how to clean the bathroom- but I'm a little nervous she'll squirt her self in the eye with the toilet cleaner... we have a baby coming in September, so I'm looking for ways that she can start helping out now with, that will be a huge help after the baby comes. but by then she'll be back in school...
