Fun ways to teach my DD words for Kindergarden?

My DD is starting Kindergaden this year and I have even trying to work with her to learn how to spell and teach her some words that she might not know how to read.

She's like me and gets very agitated if she can't get it right off the bat. Lol.

What are some fun ways to help get (and keep) her interested in learning how to sound out words and learn new ones?

Put it in song form... I taught my youngest son Manny how to spell his name this way example M to the A to the N,N,Y Manny... This could also work for all worlds, but remember if she is getting agitated its time to quit for awhile.... While its important to learn it equally important to have down time:)

Do sight words then pair them with objects etc. That is how I am teaching my DD she is now reading some words not a lot but they say not to worry to much about it. She scored awesome at the registration for kindergarten 5-6 age range to be exact lol.
