Yesterday we went to our area town center. Lots of people were outside because the day was so beautiful! We were eating ice cream when the most epic screaming match, power struggle occurred between a mom and her two children. It was clear she had no control what so ever. The screaming, threats, and power struggle went on for a painful 5-7 minutes while everyone tried hard to ignore it. I asked my husband "Should I go help her?" he said "No, she has to find her own methods." None of the kids were in danger (like by a road or anything, she wasn't hitting them). But you could tell they were all past the point of reason. Would you have gotten involved?

No.  Not my children and not my concern.  Your husband was correct.

I get super pissed when people try to tell me how I should or should not discipine my kids. The same methods don't work for every child. Unless she was cussing them or actually beating them (NOT spanking them) I would mind my own business.

I agree with this.  Unless the kids were in danger I would have kept my thoughts to myself.

Agreed. Even if they were all past the point of reason, unless the children were in danger or being abused, it's none of my business. I would have stayed out of it.

Nope it has nothing to do with me. I don't want people thinking they have the right to get inbetween me and my child so why would I want to do that to another parent. Let people be.

Not unless the kids were being hurt. If she was being really inappropriate like swearing and threatening to kill them or something then I would probably notify the police and let them do their thing.

The best I could do is remove my kids from the situation and talk about how crazy some people are.

Um No. Would you like a stanger to come and get inbetween you and your kids during an argument?

That's what I figured but it sure was painful to watch. I would be pissed off too if someone interfered with my children. I didn't feel superior. I just started to feel sorry for her.
