Tv time?

Im trying to limit the amount of tv my 6 yo dd watches. How much tv do you think is acceptable each day. She doesn't have any game systems and uses a computer for learning purposes only. I prefer to get out and do things as a family, but I don't mind some tv. How much is too much?

I am not sure.  DD loves to veg with daddy to watch cartoons but we also get out to do things.  She usually will watch a dvd for bedtime.

It depends on the family, and the child.

I'm one who has the tv on almost all day b/c I like it for background noise, so my kids probably get more screen time w/ it than most, but it's not like they're glued to it all day. They still go outside, play w/ toys, play w/ friends, etc.

We try to implement an hour a day.  Works great when schools in session.  Not so much now.  I go and workout in the morning so they are watching it then and when I come home, I make them do other things.

I don't know...I don't time/limit TV. As long as my kiddos are outside everyday, being active and having fun, then I don't see the problem with TV in the morning and evening.

Yep this. My kids watch morning shows. Were out and about during the day. They might enjoy some evening shows.

Same here. I don't make a big deal over the tv. My boys would much rather play with toys or outside.

Same here. My kids really don't watch a whole bunch of tv. They have shows we DVR and they watch later. I have to limit computer time for my sons, they would be online playing their games all day if I let them.
