During my mini break at work I enjoy watching house hunter on HGTV. I love HGTV. I would like to have a single family house or maybe townhouse in a nice neighborhood. Place where I can do scrap booking and entertain guest. It must a have a big yard so my son can play in. Right now we live in the city where I can look over someone back yard. It definitely not my dream home. Do you live in your dream home If not describe your dream home.
It could be my dream home if I had the cash to do renovations to it. I like the lot size, general layout and location but it needs updates on major things like bathrooms and kitchen, new windows, siding, chimney, and the list goes on.....sigh.
My dream home honestly would be a home that is close to being mortgage free and in sound condition not needing anything more than basic paint job once in a while. I no longer want the big home on a super large lot because I've realized all you do is work to upkeep your house and yard. We have a gorgeous yard but I can't enjoy it because all I see when I go out there is more weeding, trimming, dividing, pruning. I go outside with the intention to read a book yet end up heading to the garden shed for tools!
lol thanks! Here's a couple pics, won't show any inside cuz these pics have the nasty wallpaper still everywhere that I spent two weeks peeling off. Blah.

The porches start on that right side, leading to the screened in porch below, which is right off of the master bedroom.

Then, if you turn the other way, walk for a bit and go down some stairs, you come to this pic below! There's also another smaller porch right off the dining room that's perfect for a jacuzzi if we ever want. :)

Quoting Reina13:Wrap around porches you say!!! That sounds wonderful. Would love to see pictures. Congratulations!!
Quoting mommy2b39465:We're about to move in to my dream home! Multiple layers of wrap around porches, in a neighborhood but so much tree cover that you can't see next door, with a small stream running b/t us and neighbors. A big open plan living/dining/kitchen, with a fireplace. 3 bed 2.5 bath with MAJOR closet space. Guy who built was an electrician, next guy was a woodworker, and built in lots of little finishing touches. Lots of nooks and crannies, and I've already spotted a couple definite future hide and go seek places, lol. Could I ask for more?
Once we finish painting the walls, floor guys come in, then we get to move around mid July! :)
My house isn't even close to my dream house. My house now is a 3bd 2ba in a rural area in middle Tn. Because of the circumstances when it was bought my mom picked it out and I pay for it. It's supposed to be an investment that my mom lives in.
This is where I really want to live. I only need 9.9 million more dollars to buy it :) When i was visting some friends in Hawaii we went riding around and looked at houses we'd never be able to afford and this was one of them.
Our current house is dreamy and will be our boys' childhood home, but it's not my dream house. That would be a cottage by the sea, on the central coast of CA. Maybe in our retirement.
Wow there still hope for me. Good for you. You go gurl!!!!
Quoting Cafe MichelleP:I do live in my dream home. I waited until I was almost 37 to buy a house. I knew that when I finally did make the purchase it was going to be my forever house.
