Winter birthday ideas for school age children!

I need some ideas for my Step daughter's birthday who will be turning 7 this November. We can never do outside activities because it's too cold. We've done the local children's museum (Magic House), she's too old for Chuck E Cheese. I don't know if she's too young to have a sleepover party?? Maybe themed? I need some outside the box ideas! I would also like to maybe have the kids bring donations for the homeless or an animal shelter instead of presents.

Winter carnival is basically just different outdoor winter activities. Snowman contest, snowball fights, sled pull relay, ect.

Handing them out at lunch is a good idea. I wouldn't know where to begin with a Winter Carnival though! I'd rather do some sort of themed party like a pajama party or pet party. Something along those lines.

I go through that with my kids. They are very selective about their friends so what I do is make mini invitations. I give them a small stack and have them hand them out to just who they want there at lunch. As for an idea, you could do a "winter carnival "

We've done ice skating before. Last year we tried to do kids from her class but you're required to invite the whole class, and I can't afford that. They don't have any kind of directory to contact the parents directly. We've done Chuck E Cheese a few times already that's why I wouldn't want to again. I may end up doing a sleepover but I don't know how to to get the invites out to a select few kids. She only has about 2 or 3 kids in the neighborhood we could invite. Norollerskating rinks nearby. Thanks for the ideas though!

I had my first sleepover at 7 yo. maybe host an indoor "drive in". have all the kids decorate cardboard "cars" and they can sit in to watch a movie or 2. if yall have a place that has those big inflatable slides and bouncers. we have a place called fun for all. its indoors and they have 3 slides and 2 bouncers and the kids got to just run wild.

If you don't want to do it at home: laser tag, bowling, movies, ice skating arena, roller skating, an indoor pool through your parks and rec. I have a Thanksgiving baby and we go through this every year.

DD (7) is a November baby. We've done Unos (the kids made their own pizzas), a tea party at a local teahouse, last year we had it at a cupcake bakery (most fune one yet!). This year she wants it at Sweet & Sassy (a salon for kids, at the parties they girls get their hair and make up done and have a fashion show).

When my son turned 7 ( nov 5 th) we had a halloween themed party where all the kids and parents came in costume. We did halloween party games! They had so much fun getting to wear their costumes one more time that yr

I think my 7th birthday was the first one that I had a sleepover party.

I love your donation idea, but I doubt other parents would follow suit, and ONLY do it if she's okay with not getting presents.

A lot of nail salons have birthday party packages.  She could have a mani/pedi party!

My sons birthday is Dec 28th so I know what you are talking about. We were supposed to do a sledding party this year, but we didn't have any snow at all this winter. That is an idea for you. When we couldn't do the sledding, we went to a gymnastics place and had a gym party. It was a ton of fun and none of the kids or parents minded that the venue changed.

Thats a cute idea. Especially since we don't get her for Halloween this year but I usually buy her a costume anyway because BM doesn't celebrate Halloween.

Last year, Lindsay had a party at her dance studio.  They had a ball there. This year (she turned 7) she had a "fashion" party.  We did the girls' hair and nails, then her sister organized a fashion show using old costumes and such.  Everyone had a lot of fun.  This year, I think she wants to go to a place with a lot of bouncy houses but I'm not sure yet

She's saying she wants to do a fashion sleepover, but she doesn't have dress up clothes so idk what the "fashion" would be. And she wants to dance too. We have plenty of Wii games to play. But I'm sure I could think of something. Thanks for all the ideas the more the merrier!
