What age did your child/children no longer need a booster seat?
All my kids were at least 10yo when I stopped the booster. DD is 9 and will be in it at least a year...at my estimate.
Years. But who knows if she will be tall enough
I won't remove the booster till te seat belt fits her correctly with out one
I believe in NY it's 8 years, 80 pounds, and at least 4'8"
he'll hit the height and weight before the age.
Our state is 8 despite everything (unless they're 80 lbs before they're 8), BUT at 8 I think they're OK without a booster. My 5 year old is 49 inches tall, and my 7 year old is 52. My son doesn't even weigh 55 pounds and is really quite tall for his age, so 80 seems like a weight almost no kids will hit at 7.
In any case, we try to be safe and keep them in whatever we can as long as we can. I had them all in 5 pt till about a year ago, and just recently switched my 5 1/2 year old (they have to be 4 to switch)
With my kids, I am pretty sure that around age 8, they will be tall enough to need little if any boostering, because they should be tall enough to fit the seat belt- but if they're not, I'll keep them in a simple one a while longer.
Between 4-5yrs of age. Passed state law and 5pt test in car, when they were that age.
