It depends on the area. The list I have right now is 6 glue sticks, 3 textbook covers, 1 biox klenex, 1 ream copy paper, 4 pack dry erase markers, 8 inch paper plates, 2 dozen dencils, 2 packs baby wipes, zip lock sandwhich bags colored pencils. It does sometimes change before school starts, they usually have out a diffrent list

I would say that pencils, crayons, and glue sticks would be on the list for sure.  I wouldn't go out and buy anything that I couldn't use at home without seeing the actual list though as they do vary from school to school.  Have you checked the school's website to see if they have it posted there?  Also the Walmarts around here usually have supply lists for the area schools at the store.

Absolutely. I agree. Markers, a pencil box, and most likely scissors will be on the list as well.

My daughter's first grade supply list is as follows:

2 boxes of tissues

1 bottle hand sanitizer

1 bottle antibacterial handsoap

1 container disinfecting wipes

2 composition books

1 box quart and 1 box gallon ziploc bags

3 plastic two pocket folders with prongs (1 red, 1 green, 1 blue)

1 box 8count and one box 16 count crayola crayons

3 Elmer's glue sticks

10 dollar paper and pencil fee

Then for her gifted class:

one  2 inch  3 ring binder

notebook paper

dividers

erasers

highlighter

spiral notebook

2 plastic pocket folders with prongs

pencils

pencil case to fit in 3 ring binder

This is almost nothing compared to her kindergarten supply list.
