What is the last year of elementary for your kids?
Our school district elementary school only goes to 3rd grade. So this year will be my daughters last year in elementary. It seems a little soon for it to be the last year. I don't remember going to middle school in 4th grade. When do your kids go up to the next school?
Our elementary grades are split into 2 schools--PK-2 and 3-5. Then they go to middle school 6-8 and then high school 9-12.
In my district, it is 5th grade. 6th grade is when they start middle school. If I were to divide the kids by age group, I would prefer elementary from K to 6, middle from 7 to 9, and high school 10-12.
Our school elementary ends at 5th. Middle school starts at 6th.
My kids are in a K-8 school so they wouldn't go to a different school until HS. However, we plan to move before that point and the area we are moving to has K-6 in the elem schools, 7-8 in jr. high and then 9-12 in HS. So no matter what, it will be later before they are out of "elementary".

Ours are exactly like what you'd prefer. I thought it was 'weird' not to have 9th grade in HS. But, now I'm glad it's that way. Lol
We have no shortage of schools in my tiny town Primary is K-1st, Intermediate is 2nd-3rd, Upper Elementary is 4th-5th then they go to Middle School for 6th-8th.
I suppose they are all elementary though until Middle School.
