Fall sport sign ups are starting and DD (8) is wanting to play baseball, her age group is machine pitch.

She has never played T-ball or anything, so I'm curious about it.

Any one have any experience?

We don't have machine pitch anything here, sorry.  We have t-ball (ages 4-5), coach pitch (ages 6-8), and then kid pitch (ages 9 and up).

My brother played machine pitch baseball when we were kids. I think he was around 6 or 7 when he did it. It was fine.

I HATE machine pitch. I'm a softball coach and put my oldest for one season because I wanted her out of that division. My twins are going up to that division next season and am trying to get on the board to give my opinion about it.

To practice for her, start on a tee and pretend its a ball frozen in air to practice her swing first.

7-8 is the only time this association does machine pitch, which I though was weird.

6 and under is t-ball and 9 and up is player pitch. No coach pitch at all.

My oldest son has played machine pitch and loved it. Academy Sports has ball on the end of a long stick that we used to get ds practicing his swing(forgot what it is called).

My son is still in tee ball. I think here 4-5 year olds do tee ball, 6 year olds get to chose tee ball or machine pitch. Not sure from there but there is no coach pitch.
