How did your s/o propose?

My s/o had just bought the ring and was planning to ask me the next day in front of my family but he just couldn't wait.  We were sitting in his living room holding hands and talking and all of the sudden he got down on one knee told me how much i meant to him, how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me... all with tears in his eyes. <3

He rented a gondola in Central Park and when we were under the bridge, proposed. We followed with dinner at Tavern on the Green. It was AWESOME!!

It wasn't anything big or grand at all.  In fact, it was rather spur of the moment.  He was planning on waiting for Valentine's Day, but for some reason popped the question while we were at a small Italian restaurant on a random Friday night in January.  I don't even remember the exact date at this point.  That was way back in 1994.

He had taken me to look at rings to get an idea of what I liked because we had been talking about marriage it was just a matter of time so I showed him one I liked and a few months later we went back to the same store to look at it again and he got down on one knee and proposed ( he had bought the ring the first visit there) it was very sweet I was very surprised.

We were in our room. I knew it was going to happen soon. Wasn't sure if he had a ring or not yet but when I Dad called me asking what Jay wanted... I kinda assumed that what he wanted was to ask my Dad for permission. So that night he proposed before bed. It was sweet and intimate! Glad it wasn't infront of anyone!

He made dinner at his place complete with candles and wine... I was suspicious. ;-) Later we sat out on the porch swing and he went in to "get more wine". He came out, got on bended knee, and... his clueless nephew drove up (his nephew's older than I am and he works with him), jumped out of his truck and started talking shop. lol Phil said, "Let's talk over here" and went around the side of the house and clued his nephew in. Nephew left and Phil finally got to propose. It was 7/14/98. We were married 11/22/98.

We had gone for a walk after dinner, and on a street corner, he got down on one knee and proposed.

He took me to the Bahamas and proposed one night at dinner. The entire restaurant started clapping and a family nearby orderd us a bottle of wine.

Of course, we'd already been married for a month because we eloped on a whim...:) I wouldn't have it any other way.
