Public schools wear uniforms here, so I pay about $150 a year for his polos and khakis.
I don't really budget, I just buy what dd needs. DD has had a growth spurt in the past year, so she needed everything! I have picked up stuff here and there that was on sale, so she now has about 3 weeks worth of things to wear to school. I still need to pick up a backpack, socks, and underwear. I am also going to take dd to the mall or outlet mall and let her pick out an outfit to wear on the first day of school (kindergarten). She says she wants purple jeans, lol.
Quoting dballa:We don't have a budget. I just get what she needs. I don't think there is really a "norm," it's what works for you and your kids. I know some people that buy a whole new wardrobe, some that buy a few tops and bottoms and some that just buy shoes.
I don't really budget either.
I don't buy back to school clothes specifically. I usually just buy them new as needed. If I find something I think they'd really love, I might get them one new shirt for back to school as a treat.
I don't really have a budget. my dd wears a uniform and I just get what she needs even if she needs a lot. I have a list and some of the uniforms are still in good condition to wear this year again. I think I spent about $150 on extra uniforms, shoes, socks and underwear.
Well, this year we had to stock up on uniforms. We hit a Children's Place sale online and my mom got her stuff for about $110 I think. That is 2 jumpers, 1 dress, 2 skirts, 4 LS shirts, 6 SS polos, and 2 pair of knee socks. I thought it was pretty good. She has a bunch of pants/capris/shorts she can wear when we start. SHe did just spend some more to get her some tights and leggings to wear under her dresses, and some cartwheel shorts too.
Dd is entering K. She has a lot of new clothes. She has moved up a size, so everything has to be new (or slightly used!) She has always increased a size in the fall. When she turned 4 she moved up to a 4, when she turned 5, she moved up to a 5. Now she is turning 6 - and she's a 6! Anyway, in anticipation of her new growth spurt, I have been shopping 6s for at least 6 months for fall and winter. I don't know how much was spent...but many item were on clearance or bought from once upon a child. If I had to spend all that money right before school when most things are full-priced... she wouldn't have nearly as many clothes. (I almost said she would go naked...lol. I guess I did say it!)
