You mean you want to petition a school to require uniforms?  Is there a specifc reason for this desire on your part?   Ours uses "street" clothes still and has no dress code.  I like buying various uniform clothing since their jumpers are better quality than other brands and the khakis tend to hold up better.

No. I dislike uniforms, and so I would not push the issue.

It was considered by the PTO of my son's elementary school, and that is usually where it starts in our community. Typically, they'll send out surveys to the parents for input on decisions that big. Fortunately, the PTO decided not to push the implementation of uniforms.

Our school started with uniforms about 8 years ago.

It is a very relaxed uniform though. Solid colored polo shirt or school t-shirt. Solid color bottom (including denim), rubber soled, closed toe and heel shoes.

That is or ours started I believe as well - through the PTA.

Our uniform at our school is so relaxed, parents don't mind it at all for the most part. :)

No, every time the parents vote on it, it gets shot down.  Thankfully!

It's been that way in our state or a while now.

for one, i think it would help a lot of our lower income families not be pointed out so obviously. class is a big thing in my small town. no gang issues really, but we do have dress codes. they arent enforced equally.
