Ugh, I am SOOOO mad! Both my girls, 6 and 3, go to gymnastics at the local gymnastics school. We got the registration information for fall classes just about a week ago. I went online to register today and EVERY SINGLE CLASS is full. Every one. It's only been a week! I'm SOOOO mad!!!! We have been going to the school for 3 or 4 years. I think kids that have been at the school for so long should get a registration jump on new kids, especially when they are in a progressive program! If you are too old for the Gym Kids (the "fun" class, not a skill class), you go straight into level 1. Well, my DD has to complete a month or 2 of level one in order to progress to level 2, she's been progressing since she was 3. It seems unfair to me that they let all these kids register that have never done gymnastics before when she has been going so long, is really good, and was requested by the OWNER to go to level 1 a year or 2 early so he can get her into the progressive team program. GRRR.
So...I don't know what to do. If I find another activity for them, I bet they won't go back to gymnastics, perhaps but not likely. DD6 loves it and is stupidly good for how young she is, so I hate to take that away from her....but she will lose SOOO much ground not going for a year! I'm just so sad. I hate it when places piss on the people that have been there and stuck through growing pains, or management changes, or whatever, who have been giving them money for years...and that it just means nothing.
END OF RANT. Thanks for listening :) What would you do? Wait for who knows how many months to see if a spot opens up...taking the chance it won't and thus missing out on doing anything, since everything else will have started? Register for something else and forget about the gymnastics? I emailed and called the school pleading, so I'm hoping they will slide her in a class, but that doesn't help with my 3yo :/ *sigh*
