We have had everything checked, thyroid, organs, blood tests...all normal. The dr today suggested more high calorie foods and a strict 3 meal 2 snack a day diet. She will refer us to a dietician and/or endocrinologist if we would like but pretty sure he is following my genetics! (I'm 5'0" and DH is 5'10")
Anyone else have a smaller than most 6 year old??
Im not super worried about him being small but I am glad to hear of all the other "smaller" children! I know he's not the only one and it's just nice to know about everyone else's kids curves on the growth chart! We are all different and he may be small now, maybe one day he will be on the other end! Also thanks for the "cute" comments!
My one son will be seven next month and he is 42 pounds. My other son won't be six until January and he is 38 pounds. I guess it is always good to get it checked out if they seemed concerned. I bet he is just fine though.
my boys are going to be 8 on Sept 3rd and they just hit 60 lbs and are 4 ft 4 inches tall
Quoting jcbruce_80:My 6 year old dd is about 45 lbs, and 46 inches tall.
My 6 yr old is about 47 lbs & I think 48.5 inches tall. And she was my 2 lb 7 oz 27 weeker.
I have a 5 yr old boy weights 40lbs and a 7 yr old daughter who weights 40 lbs. both were bigger babies but I don't think that has much to do with weight since its only 1-3lbs different at birth for most kids. My daughter weighted 9lbs 8 oz my son weighted 8lb 13oz. .
If your son is not eating then Id say worry about weight, if he does gain any weight then worry. all kids are different.
