How big is your 6 year old? (Edited!!)

I took DS 6 to his kindergarten check up today. He is in the 1st percentile for height and weight. Weighing in at 35 pounds and 40.5 inches tall, he was my biggest baby born full term at 6 lb 13oz and is now my smallest child at 6!

We have had everything checked, thyroid, organs, blood tests...all normal. The dr today suggested more high calorie foods and a strict 3 meal 2 snack a day diet. She will refer us to a dietician and/or endocrinologist if we would like but pretty sure he is following my genetics! (I'm 5'0" and DH is 5'10")

Anyone else have a smaller than most 6 year old??

Im not super worried about him being small but I am glad to hear of all the other "smaller" children! I know he's not the only one and it's just nice to know about everyone else's kids curves on the growth chart! We are all different and he may be small now, maybe one day he will be on the other end! Also thanks for the "cute" comments!

My 6 yo niece weighs nearly 60 lbs.  She has to be near 48 inches.  My 4 yo is almost 36 lbs and is 37 inches.  They are nowhere near each other on the growth chart.  One is above and one is below.  This will be interesting as they get older.  LOL

My one son will be seven next month and he is 42 pounds.  My other son won't be six until January and he is 38 pounds.  I guess it is always good to get it checked out if they seemed concerned.  I bet he is just fine though.

Adorable pic OP. :) my kids are 7 and 8, but , as of now, they are both about 54" tall and 57lbs. They are tall and thin. I think dd was about 52", 4'4", and 54lbs. I think DS was a bit smaller. :)

I have a 5 yr old boy weights 40lbs and a 7 yr old daughter who weights 40 lbs. both were bigger babies but I don't think that has much to do with weight since its only 1-3lbs different at birth for most kids.  My daughter weighted 9lbs 8 oz my son weighted 8lb 13oz. .

If your son is not eating then Id say worry about weight, if he does gain any weight then worry. all kids are different.
