Well, it does say at the bottom that you should take into account your child's specific abilities and maturity level, lol.

For me, I wouldn't let my four year old come near my dishwasher or let her handle our plates.  I'd be afraid she was going to break them.

Mostly agree. I think cleaning the tub and toilet should be swapped.

Mostly agree. I wouldn't give my 2-3 year old soapy water to wash baseboards, though. What a mess that would be! LOL I don't think I'd have them unloading the silverware from the dishwasher, either. There are knives mixed in- and even if I took them out I can just see silverware being dumped everywhere! Maybe back when I only had 1 child and not as much silverware in the dishwasher!

DS helped me scrub the floor at that age. It was definitely a mess, but also a learning experience. Most of the chores he's picked up started out taking way longer with his "help", but they've got to learn somehow :-)

Mine did learn, but a little later. Although my oldest did laundry at 3! But, I preferred teaching the watery mess stuff later. lol They're 12, 8, and 7 now and can do it all, so they turned out ok. lol

Mostly agree. My five year old collects trash for me, makes his bed and keeps his room clean. He feeds the cat and helps with the laundry.

My six year old can do everything in the 6-8 list except fetch mail (we live in a condo so it's a walk and I wouldn't let him cross the street by himself yet) and clean the microwave because it's over the stove. He can also do some stuff from the higher lists like make meals, mop floors, take out the garbage, do laundry, and plan menus. His menu planning can be less than perfect, little heavy on the pizza and brinner kind of meals and less of the veggie heavy meals, but he can write up a menu and a shopping list for a week which isn't shabby for a six year old.
