My ds starts second grade this year and has a male teacher. He is so excited to have a boy teacher. Have many of your kids had a male teacher in the elementary grades. I am used to it with my middle schooler. I think male teachers are rare in the elementary grades.Opinions please.This is not a negative post by any means I am just wanting to know if many others had a male teacher in elementary school. I think it is great it is just rare it seems.
My oldest didn't have a male teacher until 6th grade (unless you count gym). My younger two (3rd and 1st) have not yet had a male teacher other than for gym class.
When I was a kid I didn't have a male teacher until 6th, though there was one in 5th - but I didn't have him as a teacher.
I am hoping for a male teacher for my DS going into grade 2 his grade 1 teacher made him hate school! Its a fight...still reachering homeschooling!
My SD just started 3rd grade. She got her first male teacher. Well there were other teachers that were involved before but that was mainly like music and gym sometimes.
Yes, our elementary school has a few male teachers. I had 2 male teachers when I was in fifth grade, many many years ago.
