Missing school.

My son is going to have to miss school tomorrow. Hes in part time kibdergarten ( about 3 in a half hours) but since hes my only kid im kinda clueless on a few things one thing is do i have to call his school and tell them like in pre k that he wont be there or do they just check him as not there when they do roll call? . Im learning as i go and all this school stuff is s bit confusing. Lol

I never called when my kids missed. I just sent an excuse the next day.

U don't have to call the school but send in a note as soon as he returns to school

I usually don't even explain why. I just say please excuse John's absence on 8-24. If he's really sick or had an appt I just get a drs note

I always call because our schools will have the truancy person call to check to see why my child isn't in school. It's a way for the schools to make sure parents aren't just letting kids skip or to ensure that the parents knows that their child isn't in school (ex. when older kids who tend to skip).

Here you are expected to call if your child is absent. Someone from the school will call you by 10am if you don't call first.
