The School Nurse Charges Me

I was just wondering if any of your schools charge you as well if your child makes a visit. Luckily, our insurance will pay any of the cost BUT I know some people don't have the same insurance. I think a basic "kid gets hurt and needs to be treated aka ice and such" is about $220. I just don't get it. When did we start charging for nurse visits in public school? My kids are on strick rules to NOT go if at all possible!

That is just wrong, IMO.  If the school is going to charge you that much to see the nurse, they should just call the ambulance and have them transport the children to the ER every time they get a slight injury.

No it is a public school. The only thing she does charge for is a quarter for pads.

She could be making a profit of you all on top of her income and the school does not know it. I would bring it up at a school board meeting. If she is ripping people off then they need to get her out of there and get a new nurse.
