We dont have PTA, we have PTO and i think children are welcome if there is no one to watch them. I think ours is usually done in the library so there are things to occupy them. I would suggest calling the school tomorrow and find out what their policies are.
In our town, children are not welcome at pta meetings (nursing babies would be a different story). They are usually long meetings here with a lot of talking. Last year our schools started offering childcare for toilet trained children during the meetings to make it easier for parents to come.
They will talk about school fundraisers and projects. Make suggestions about how to make the school better.
I don't bring my kids bc they would be bored, it's just a bunch of moms talking about school stuff, my kids have no interest
This. But there are also teachers and the principal at our meetings. I don't think I would nurse in front of them... but that is just me. Our PTO meetings offer childcare for those who need it. Our meetings are also all business as they discuss the treasurers report, what was started last yr, what is planned for this yr and how much it will cost, what fundraisers are planned and how much the PTO needs to bring in, budget talk, Principals report, Teachers report, etc. And there are signups for committees etc.
Ours is all business, not a social hour.
Quoting TJandKarasMom:
Kids don't usually come to ours, if they do it's bigger kids and they sit quietly and talk or read. A nursing baby is different always welcome at the table ;)
