That is what our school is using for reading levels but i have no idea what it means.  Most students are at a 3 or 4 and end of first grade benchmark is 16.  Since i am not familar with this , i have no clue if that is alot to expect or too little to expect.

Ty that helps alot since we have a scholastic book catalog to order from now as well.  I am glad to see it goes up by 2s instead of ones.

Our school did that. When DS was in school. (we homeschool now)
A 16 or I really isn't that hard of a book. Like maybe 10 pages with a sentence or two per page.
DS maxed the school out in first at third grade O-P and it was still pretty easy. (which is pretty sad that they didn't have any higher books)

We use it in our elementary schools.

I have to say our teachers are GREAT at finding books for the kids levels. The higher kids are challenged.

That chart is very cool. Thanks! I have to say, we spend so much of our time with report cards and school stuff discussing grading scales and levels and stuff like tihs, we almost nver get to actually discuss my children at all.

I love data, but it seems like it's just so confusing. And we switch all the time at our school, from one system or scale to another.
